Terms of sale and license

Last updated

These terms cover buying MacClearings and using it. They’re written to be read. If anything is unclear, ask at support@macclearings.app.

Who you’re buying from

MacClearings is made by Chris Williams. Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record: it sells you the license on our behalf, takes payment, handles tax, and issues your receipt. Lemon Squeezy’s buyer terms apply to the payment itself.

Your license

  • Buying MacClearings gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Macs you own or control, with the license key we send you.
  • The license doesn’t expire. Every update to MacClearings is included at no extra cost.
  • Please don’t share your key publicly, resell it, or try to work around license activation. Don’t reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it regardless of these terms.
  • MacClearings remains the property of its maker. You’re buying a license to use it, not the software itself.

Price and launch offer

The price is shown on the pricing page and at checkout, in US dollars, with tax added where it applies. The launch price applies to the first 25 orders and is applied at checkout automatically; once those are sold, the full price applies. A price shown on this site doesn’t reserve a launch copy until checkout completes.

Refunds

You can get a full refund within 30 days of buying. See the refund policy.

Using MacClearings

MacClearings never deletes files. It moves only the items you review and confirm to the Trash, re-checks each one first, refuses anything on its protected list, and keeps a history so you can undo a cleanup while the items are still in the Trash. How it works.

You decide what to move, and emptying the Trash is your decision and outside the app’s control. Keep backups of anything important, for example with Time Machine. MacClearings is a tool to help you understand and manage your disk; it can’t know which of your own files matter to you.

Warranty and liability

We work hard to make MacClearings reliable and safe, and we’ll fix problems you report. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, MacClearings is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and our total liability to you for any claim related to it is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be limited by agreement, or liability that can’t be excluded by law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Changes don’t take away anything you already bought: a license you paid for stays valid, with updates included.
